HPV what we need to know

HuffPost Healthy Living Huffington Post

We're honoring Cervical Health Awareness Month by bringing you the latest information on human papillomavirus, the virus associated with cervical cancer -- and with several other types of cancer, including anal, penile and oropharyngeal cancer. HPV is also the virus underlying genital warts. Although much of the conversation about the virus relates to women's health -- cervical cancer is the most common HPV-related cancer by magnitudes -- there are many health concerns that uniquely or disproportionately affect men. These include genital warts and anal cancers. And since HPV is the most common sexually transmitted infection in the world, it affects a massive percentage of the male population, as well.

The Grace of the Lord Jesus be with you (1 Corinthians 16:23)

From Moments with You, by Dennis & Barbara Rainey
Far too frequently, we hear about the indiscretion of a public figure or religious leader being exposed in some kind of tabloid-style news. For a few days, the person’s name and all the titillating details are near the top of every news broadcast.
How should Christian parents handle these kinds of reports? Ask these questions because, the way we discuss things around the dinner table can have longer-lasting implications for our kids than we realize. When we rant about what these individuals have done, judging them with little grace or calling them names and considering them despicable, what does that say to our teenagers about what they can expect if they ever need to come to us and confess some secret sin?
Whether we like to think it or not, our children all struggle with sinful desires. They are growing up in a world riddled with promiscuity, drugs, alcohol, pornography, gluttony, and dozens of other addictions and seductions. Even if they never act on all these temptations, their human desires cause them the same difficulties from day to day as ours do.
But if they know that your response to human guilt is abrupt and merciless, what will they likely say to themselves if they mess up badly in the future? Your children should know that if they ever fail morally, you will not intervene to spare them from the consequences.  But they should also know that no matter how they fall, there is always grace in your household. They are always safe in your embrace, they can never slip so far away that your love won’t still be there to reach out to them and welcome them home.
Pray-that you and your family will be a safe harbor of forgiveness, grace, and hope for those who fail.

1 Timothy 3:5

For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?

For you shall eat [the fruit] of the labor of your hands; happy (blessed, fortunate, enviable) shall you be, and it shall be well with you.  PSALM 128:2

excerpts from Joyce Meyer

Is it obvious that we are to work more than we rest? Some people wonder why their lives are such a wreck, once rested we are supposed to get up and work.

You can not take authority over your life if you don’t have authority over a sink full of dirty dishes or a messy garage. If you want to grow, the Word says you must get your own house in order first. Win the battle of getting your life in order before tackling the whole world.

And let the beauty and delightfulness and favor of the Lord our God be upon us; confirm and establish the work of our hands - yes, the work of our hands, confirm and establish it.  PSALM 90:17

Sometimes we may just need to clear away clutter so you can clearly see what is worthwhile. Don’t keep more than you can take care of. If you have so much stuff in your home that it takes you hours to dust it, get rid of something.
Find a big box and make it a “Blessing Box”, start putting things into it until cleaning is more manageable. Then find someone who does not have much and bless them.

Triumph Through Trials

"For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.
So let it grow, for when our endurance is fully developed, you will be strong in character and ready for anything."
~James 1:3-4~

I see you when you are in the garden of grief. I hear your cry for help in the dark hours of the night. I Myself cried out in the garden the night I was betrayed. In My suffering, I asked My Father for another way-a less painful way. Yet I trusted His will and purpose for My life and knew the ultimate victory was at the cross.

Just as olives must be crushed to make oil, I poured out My life as a love offering for you. Don't ever doubt that I am with you and that I long to take you to a place of comfort, peace, and victory. Even when you cannot see Me from where you are, I am working on your behalf. Give to Me the crushing weight of your circumstances, and come to Me in prayer.
When it is time to leave the garden, I will walk with you across the valley and straight to the cross-where your trials will be transformed into triumph.

Speak Life with His Words

"Let the words of Christ, in all their richness, live in your hearts and make you wise. Use his words to teach and counsel each other. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. And whatever you do or say, let it be as a representative of the Lord Jesus."
~Colossians 3:16-17~

What you may see as broken inside yourself, I see as beautiful. I am the One who makes beautiful things out of broken hearts. I am the same God who took a brokenhearted orphan named Esther and turned her into a queen who saved My people.
Just as I used Esther's pain for My purpose, I will not waste a single tear you have shed. I can and will use whatever is broken in your life for My glory. My love and mercy will shine brightest in those broken places. I will not only use what is broken, I will rebuild you to become even better.

Get Up and Fight

"Come now, let's settle this," says the Lord. "Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool."
~Isaiah 1:18~

The greatest battle you may ever fight is the fight to forgive yourself. Remember,  all my chosen ones had to get up and receive My gift of grace to finish living out their faith.
I gave My disciple Peter the strength to get up from guilt from denying he ever knew Me. I gave My anointed King David the grace to get up from the shame of committing adultery. I gave My apostle Paul the mercy to get up from pride and arrogance. I gave my warrior Gideon the courage to stand above his fears.
The time is now to accept My forgiveness, and finish what I called you to do. Nothing can keep you down, because My power to rise again is in you.
~

"Even if godly people fall down seven times, they always get up."
~Proverbs 24:16~
